Case studies

    Client case studies.

Digitec Solution engagements typically run as 6–14 week sprints staffed by a senior cross-functional squad of engineers, data specialists and designers. Each project below describes the original business challenge, the technical solution we shipped, and the measurable outcomes verified with the client after go-live.

    Case study 1

    Financial Services — Karachi, Pakistan

    Challenge

A mid-sized commercial bank was running end-of-day risk reports on a 14-year-old Oracle stack that took 9–11 hours to compute, blocking compliance sign-off. Analysts spent over 60% of their week reconciling spreadsheets instead of investigating exposures.

    Solution

Digitec re-platformed the risk pipeline onto Azure Synapse and Apache Spark, with Delta Lake as the storage layer and Python-based PySpark jobs for transformations. We introduced Airflow for orchestration and a Power BI semantic model for analyst self-service. Existing Oracle systems remained the system of record; CDC via Debezium streamed changes into the new lakehouse.

    Outcome
    • Risk report runtime reduced from ~10 hours to 23 minutes (96% faster)
    • 62% reduction in analyst hours spent on data wrangling

    Case study 2

    Healthcare — United Kingdom

    Challenge

A private healthcare group operating 18 clinics across the UK was overwhelmed by inbound patient enquiries on phone and email, with average first-response times exceeding 14 hours. Staffing more agents was not commercially viable.

    Solution

Digitec designed and deployed a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) assistant on top of Azure OpenAI (GPT-4o) and a curated clinical FAQ corpus stored in Azure AI Search. The assistant triages enquiries by intent, books appointments through the existing Cliniko API, and escalates clinical questions to a human queue with full conversation context. A guardrail layer enforces HIPAA-equivalent PII handling.

    Outcome
    • First-response time dropped from 14h to under 90 seconds
    • 71% of inbound enquiries resolved without human handoff

    Case study 3

    Logistics — Dubai, UAE

    Challenge

A regional freight forwarder lacked real-time visibility into shipment status across 11 carriers and 4 ERP systems. Customer service was reactive, and SLA breaches were discovered only during monthly reconciliation.

    Solution

Digitec built a unified shipment data platform using Apache Kafka for ingestion, Snowflake as the warehouse, and dbt for modelled views. A custom React + Mapbox tracking portal was deployed for customers, and an ML model trained on three years of historic transit data flags shipments at risk of SLA breach 24–72 hours in advance.

    Outcome
    • 35% reduction in average delivery exception time
    • 3× faster reporting cycle — monthly to weekly with daily drilldowns

    Case study 4

    E-commerce / Retail — London, United Kingdom

    Challenge

A direct-to-consumer fashion brand was paying for a legacy Magento 1 storefront with a 4.8s mobile LCP and a 1.7% conversion rate. Replatforming attempts had been quoted at 9–12 months by previous agencies.

    Solution

Digitec executed a headless replatform in 11 weeks using Next.js on Vercel for the storefront, Shopify Plus for commerce, and Sanity for content. We migrated 18,000 SKUs and 6 years of order history with zero downtime, instrumented full GA4 + server-side tracking, and rebuilt the product detail page around a research-led conversion pattern.

    Outcome
    • Mobile conversion rate increased from 1.7% to 3.4% (100% lift)
    • Largest Contentful Paint reduced from 4.8s to 1.3s

    Case study 5

    SaaS — Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

    Challenge

A regional HR SaaS company had a churning customer base and no insight into which features drove retention. Product decisions were made on intuition; finance had no reliable LTV model.

    Solution

Digitec rebuilt the analytics stack around Segment for instrumentation, BigQuery for warehousing, and dbt for modelling. We deployed a churn-prediction model (XGBoost) trained on 30 months of usage and billing data, and surfaced predictions inside the customer success Salesforce instance via a reverse-ETL pipeline using Hightouch.

    Outcome
    • 23% reduction in voluntary churn within two quarters
    • Customer success team prioritisation moved from intuition to model-ranked accounts
